Video Editing

Over the past three years, I have edited many videos, mostly for Texas Student Television. I have taken both an Introduction and Advanced course in editing and am familiar with the QCut, Avid, Adobe Premiere Pro editing workspaces. Here are some samples from my portfolio:

TSTV Gameday Promo

Created with Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition to promote Texas Student Television’s Gameday program for live sports that I directed for two years.

From Austin to Indy – Genesis 2017 (2017)

Representative video of my first year in drum corps, Genesis’s 2017 production of The Other Side of Now, from first learning the drill to the last performance in Indianapolis. Using videos from of Facebook group that we used to study our drill, I stitched together five months of the progression of the show into one seamless video using Adobe Premiere Pro. Watch as it goes from the first day of learning drill in April in Bastrop, Texas to the final performance in August in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Alias, The Telling – Scenes 73-80

http://https://youtu.be/QeqbUhrQ02U

Scenes from the ABC television series Alias created from dailies bought by the University of Texas at Austin. I chose the best takes in each scene and strung them together into a seamless string of scenes with a custom soundtrack. These scenes were edited in Avid Media Composer.

Checkmate (2018), a One-Word, Short Film

Short film made in Spring 2018 containing only one word of dialogue. I shot it on a Panasonic P2, edited and re-colored through Adobe Premiere Pro. The short film was featured in the end-of-course screening and received high praise from the course instructor, particularly for the hand-made opening and closing credits.

Chicago Cubs, a Short Documentary

Short Documentary made for a course project where the object was to provide a video that could be shown to a new fan of the team and give them a good understanding of the team and its history and culture. This short documentary was featured in lecture and used in later semesters as an example of going above and beyond the requirements of the project. This video was made using found photos and video and edited in Adobe Premiere.

Mad Men, The Wheel – Scene 14

Scene from the HBO television series Mad Men created from the dailies of the show donated by creator Matthew Weiner to the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. I chose the best take of each shot and strung them together into a seamless scene, edited in Avid Media Composer.
